Every business has operating and overhead expenses, one of which is the cost of procuring new business. In addition to various advertising campaigns and promotions, we at Carolina Homes have found another and more rewarding way to invest that money.

We are big believers in the importance of a quality education, and we are aware of the financial investment made by families to help both schools and students be the best they can be. Carolina Homes is therefore pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to both schools and students in exchange for their help in promoting our company. For every new client referred to us, we will give $5000 to the student and $2000 to that student's school.

Students: How to Receive a $5000 Scholarship

Anyone can help. Whether you're a student, a teacher, a parent, or anyone who wants to help students receive scholarships. you can help. You help by telling everyone you know about this program. You might start with the network of people connected to your school: faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, etc. Then move on to telling business acquaintances, friends, neighbors, church members, etc. And don't forget to ask everyone to help you by telling others also.

What to Tell People

Begin by saying something like:

• "I am a student at [name of private school], and I love going there, but it is costing my parents a lot of money for me to do so."
• "I made my school's basketball team and I'm raising some money to help pay for the extra expenses."
• "I am working to raise money so I can go to [name of college] after I graduate this coming spring."

Mention any expense of any kind as long as it is associated with the student's current or future education. Then invite them to visit my website, StormReadyHomes.com to learn more about me and my company. Tell them that you will receive a $5000 scholarship for every new client who contracts with Carolina Homes to build a new custom home.

By the way, do not make any claims about the quality of our business beyond anything you may know firsthand. You are not promoting the superiority of Carolina Homes over other builders. Rather you are promoting the program and the offer of scholarships and donations to you and your school. Your job is encouraging people to look at our website and contact us if they're interested. We'll take care of the rest.

We'll let you know when a prospect decides to sign a contract with Carolina Homes. As soon as we begin the building process and receive the first payment draw, we will send a check for $1000 to the person who referred that client. Then when construction is completed and we receive the final payment draw, a check for the remaining $4000 will be sent to the student, and $2000 will be sent to the school. (For homes with a contract price less than $250,000, the amount of the donation will be 2% of the contract price. The maximum donation per client and per home built is $5000).

Schools: How to Receive a $2000 Donation

The success of this program depends largely upon every school doing as much as they can to promote it. Your school stands to receive thousands of dollars in donations from the Carolina Homes Scholarship Program. This is what we ask you to do in order to receive these donations:

1. Most importantly, put a promo banner on the front page of the school's website. You can copy and paste the graphic to the left, or you can ask us to edit and/or resize one to best fit your website. If you prefer, you can also submit for approval your own design. Tell your webmaster to attach the necessary code to the graphic so it will point to http://stormreadyhomes.com/ch5000x.html.
2. Put up signs around the campus in prominent places: i.e., gym, football field, baseball field, hallways, etc. Again, you can use the graphic to the left (resized as needed) or request a custom design.
3. Send regular notices to everyone on your mailing list (parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumni). Put announcements in newsletters, emails, etc.

Do as much as you can to let people know about this unique opportunity to help Mobile schools and students. Remember: the more you promote this program, the more your school and your students are likely to receive!
